Team Mates Matter: New in 2016

We’ve had several additions to the RIC team this year and we wanted to take a moment to welcome them and talk about how our team works together to create beautiful designs and finished products.

Bronwen Warner

First we’d like to welcome Bronwen Warner who is our newest designer. If that last name sounds familiar it is because she is the wife of RIC owner, Matt Warner! Matt and Bronwen went to school together and have been bouncing design and architecture ideas off each other for twenty years. Bronwen has spent her career at architecture firms where she’s completed massive school designs, large master planning projects, vacation homes and multifamily developments. Despite her wide range of experiences, she has always gravitated toward small, residential spaces. Bronwen says “RIC is focused on the kinds of projects and client relationships I enjoy most . . . personally and professionally, it’s a great fit to be working together with Matt, our team of talented craftsmen and the great clients at RIC Design Build.”

Bronwen’s responsibilities include working directly with clients to nail down every aspect of their project’s design from lighting to tile and everything in between. She loves customized problem solving and she works closely with our clients to make sure we’ve designed a unique solution to their specific need. Bronwen also enjoys painting, drawing, sewing and printmaking and is basically happy whenever she is creating and making. Welcome, Bronwen!

Steve Osberger

Next we’d like to introduce Steve Osberger who is our new project manager and carpenter. Steve has an excellent background in restoration having owned his own construction company that specialized in historic renovations and repairs. After meeting us and seeing the potential in merging all of his knowledge with ours, he decided to make the leap to RIC. Steve’s daily tasks can be anything from ordering materials to meeting with clients to supervising the installation of a support beam. His skills and expertise make it easy for him to fill many roles here, which he enjoys. “I thrive on the diversity of responsibilities it takes to keep a healthy project pace while maintaining our overall philosophy of ‘sustainability, attention to detail and craftsmanship’” he says. When Steve isn’t covering a wide variety of bases, he is traveling with his wife and four-legged kids, drinking craft beer and enjoying folk music. Welcome, Steve!

Andrew Breeden

Finally, we welcome Andrew Breeden, our newest carpentry assistant. We met Andrew through one of our clients, who were family members of Andrew’s. Our personal knowledge of him and his work ethic encouraged us to add him to our team. Andrew says that he loves being able to see what he’s accomplished after a day’s work - something all of us in renovation, construction and restoration are completely addicted to. When he’s not helping us out on one of our many project sites, he’s reading or spending time with friends. Welcome, Andrew!

One of the things we love most about our team here at RIC is that everyone came to us organically. We’ve never had to post a job listing or interview multiple candidates. We bring people onto our team who we know personally and who we know will bring value, expertise and an excellent experience to our clients. At the end of the day we all love that thing that Andrew has experienced this past year - the joy of stepping back and seeing the outcome of a hard day’s work. What we all love and work hard for every day is a job well done.
