Teammates Matter: Bronwen Warner

At RIC, we are a truly holistic design/build firm. This means that we work with our clients from the beginning to the end of their home renovation and building projects.

Teammates like Bronwen Warner make this possible by bringing years of experience and a creative eye to the process, while helping our clients express their individual style and preferences.

Bronwen has been with us for two and a half years after having worked at several other architecture and design firms. After receiving her undergraduate degree in architecture from University of Michigan, Bronwen moved to Virginia to complete her Masters in Architecture at the University of Virginia. After grad school, she got her first job in Richmond and continued to think of Virginia as “home.”

Bronwen’s interest in architecture was sparked as a kid while watching the TV show This Old House on Saturday mornings. She continued to pursue her interest in design and building through high school and college - enjoying the blend of creativity, problem solving, and the process of making a real, useful product.

Prior to RIC, Bronwen worked with other architecture firms in Richmond, South Carolina and Michigan. Throughout this time she was able to work on a wide variety of projects and building types, from college classrooms and campus planning to apartment buildings and vacation homes. But eventually, she realized that what she most enjoyed was working on smaller scale projects with individual clients, which led her to RIC.

Our clients now enjoy Bronwen’s experience and the creative energy she brings to their projects. Her days are spent working closely with homeowners, helping turn their project wish-lists into construction-ready designs. “In previous jobs, construction was entirely separate from the design process” she says. “RIC is a hands-on team from beginning to end - so together with our clients we’re designing, refining, pricing and building with our crew of craftsmen and collaborators who know each others’ strengths and skills really well.”

From cross-checking details and budgets to selecting materials and finishes, Bronwen acts as a design guide for our clients throughout the entire process, so they’re never stranded trying to make last-minute decisions when things inevitably pop up during the construction phase. “We know most people only take on renovation and construction a handful of times in their lifetime, and we want to make sure that process is as collaborative, successful and stress-free as possible.”

When she’s not guiding our clients through their renovations, Bronwen is cheering on her kids at their various activities, exploring Virginia, and taking family road trips all while squeezing in some painting and artistic outlets whenever she can.
